WHO BEST TO USE TO CHANGE FROM MOVISTAR AND KEEP THE SAME NUMBER

Postby patricia » Sun Feb 25, 2018 3:55 pm

Well having been caught out once again by Yavoy I now want to change from Movistor and also telefonica fixed phone as I am sick to death of them. Who is the best in peoples opinion. I think Enrique did say that Vodafone is good but who to use for the fixed phone and also to keep the number. :problem:

Yes, my mobile is with Hits and it’s very good value. I got it through Telitec, who I believe also do landlines

Teletic. I have heard of them. Yes I want to change my fixed phone. It is the second time I have been caught by Yavoy and I have asked for my money back but have never received it. So I have given them one chance too many!

Thanks for that.

All companies can migrate your existing number across so it shouldn’t be a problem. I have an Internet based phone service through a high speed WiFi system and they had no problem transferring the number.

The only problem with Movistar is if you had a phone provided by them when they put the line in. If so, they will insist on you returning it. The same applies to Movistar routers if you have one.

That is interesting Sid. I did ask them if they want their phone back. I do not use it anyway so they can they have it and good riddance. I do not have their internet system and so I have my own router. I have waited to long to be rid of them. Their fee for a month of line rental is extortionate anyway! Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Hi patricia,

" I have waited to long to be rid of them"...........you may have to wait even longer for them to cancel and terminate your account.

Well, I had no problems at all a year or so ago. The only problem was understanding the procedure to return the items and get a returns reference number. With that it was totally painless and the number transfers (landline and mobile) were done within 48 hours and they sent text messages telling you exactly what they were doing.

We use hits for a mobile use. They use the vodafone network. No real issues. Online access to check your account.lots of options depending on what you need it for.

Hi .
Sounds like the person that was dealing with Sid was on the ball........

I just looked up my notes on our Termination , no number to transfer and no equipment to return, started 14 February 2017 and we were still getting Bills Mid May 2017, finally sorted June 2017.

Hope your's goes smoothly............

They are a nightmare. Surely to god their ceo or whoever must see they are treating people in a disgusting manner. Who would want something like Yavoy.

I hope my operator is on the ball. I do not want to be getting bills months down the line, but having made up my mind now to be shot of them that is what I am doing.

If I remember correctly, you call their customer service department, tell them you wish to cancel and transfer your number and return your equipment. They give you a returns number. You take the equipment to your local Movistar shop and quote the number. That’s it. They take the equipment off you and you proceed from there.

Did you call the 1004 number as I keep ringing and get nowhere. I am now with Telitec but still have to return the phone!

Also where is there a Movistar shop in Nerja! or is there one in Nerja. I thought there was one by the bus station, but have not noticed it for some time.

There is one in Torrox Costa too, opposite Sabadell (Avda El Faro) not down El Faro but on the other side of the N340.

Well that all went very smoothly. I took the phone into the Movistar shop in Torrox Costa and gave him a number that I had been given and he took the phone and my details etc and printed out a receipt of the phone and then I went to the bank and cancelled their standing order. The banks said that Movisitar cannot take any money out of my account.

Still I will wait and see if I get a summons or something for any monies owed! :D

Just to say that it all went very smoothly. I am with Telitec for the fixed phone and Hits for the mobile. No problems whatsoever. I I am glad to be rid of Movistar as I began to get more calls fro Yavoy and despite keep asking for the calls to be stopped they carried on calling. But now I am free from these calls and am saving a lot of money on the monthly bill which kept going up with Movistar.
