PROBABLY STUPID COMPUTER QUESTION

This is probably really daft but hey ho..... :problem: :problem: :problem: :problem: :problem:

If the main computer is attached to the router the an Ethernet cable, does it affect the 'signal' to other computers, tvs etc?

Or is it better that it is not connected.

I seem to be having problems with Movistar router, the signal is cutting of quite a lot.

Or should I get a new router from Movistar?

"I seem to be having problems with Movistar router, the signal is cutting of quite a lot"............is that between the Router and your local Network, OR is that between Router and ISP. ?

I'd just get Movistar to supply a new Router to start with, in your case.

You could arrange for me to come on Teamviewer via PM to do some tests........... :idea:

Thanks. I called Movistar and they say my signal is bad and they are trying to fix it, let's see if it works.

But

Movistar came round, fiddled around, tried a new router, that didn't work, put the old one back on.
But now no Now TV will play.

Anyone know where the instructions are to put DNS in the router? I can't find the thread

I think the Movistar guy fiddled with the router .
I had previously plumbed the dns into the router and do not know how to get in there again! There was an idiot guide on here but I cannot find it.

I maybe do that but for the moment I have managed to knock out, all my wifi, nothing is working except the main desktop on ethernet.

So for the mo I have bigger fish to fry!!!!!
