Windows 10 1803 Forced Update

Postby Enrique » Sun Oct 06, 2019 8:54 am

Good morning,

To find your Windows OS version.....type Winver in the search box

Microsoft is now aggressively (i.e. you'll get it with little or no control ) updating systems that are nearing the November end of support date.

Once it starts it will take some time (hours/days) to complete on the average Laptop. Not good if you have some pressing work to complete.

Example:: I'm currently six hours in and counting on an Acer i3 Laptop.

So if you want to delay (possibly not ) set Active Hours and Metered Connection, MS may have Bypassed these Tweaks....... :(

Hi,
Windows 10 current support model..........

https://support.microsoft.com/gl-es/hel ... fact-sheet

Peter:: if all is well with your 1809 then stick with it..........until 2003 hits the shelves.

Update on my "Forced " update from 1803 to 1903.........took eight hours but no problems......quite slick for MS....... :D
After the Four total failures earlier in the year when I had to do Clean initial installs of 1903........ :o

Microsoft decided yesterday that it was time to apply the upgrade to my pc, despite the fact that I have it set up not to automatically install updates.

Took a couple of hours to complete but so far it seems to have gone without a hitch.
Regards

Bob
