My property damaged by a neighbour.
While I was not in Spain a neighbour had a TV dish fitted on his property. The problem is he trespassed and damaged my wall and run the cable across my wall. Although he agreed to have it removed and the wall repaired. It has now been since last August his parents are there now and they are making excuses and I feel this will never be put right. I have been in touch with my community who are willing to help, but do not seem to be any rush to force the issue. I am so mad that they did it in the first place, but to play dumb is just insult to injury. I will place a complaint to the police if not repaired when I return to Spain in March. But everyone says it could take forever that way. Is there anything I can do, because I am very tempted to just cut the cable. Have you any advice for me please. Mrs Scotford. [email protected]

If the damage is minor I wouldn't bother going down the legal route. I would give your neighbour a time scale of say 28 days to repair your wall and remove his cable. If not I would cut the cable and remove it myself.
Is your neighbour Spanish?

Another thing, Take some photos of the cable on your property and the damage for evidence in case he denounces you which he may well do if he is a Spaniard.

I agree with Costakid. That is also what the Spanish do as it works better than the law. Friends who bought a villa, (he's english and his wife Spanish) found out that some of the land had been taken by the neighbours. The wife and her family just removed the boundry and took it back. They said if the neighbour wanted to dispute it they could have the hassle and cost of going to court.

Jeez, what is it in their mentality that makes them do this.
I had a similar thing where a neighbour (Spanish) tapped into my Sky aerial.
I just cut his cable into small pieces and dumped them in his garden.
All they have to do is ASK!

That is no reason not to denounce him ...
Do unto him - what he may do unto you ... but do it first and do it harder !

Move his dish a few inches so they lose their signal. It might not sort your problem any quicker, but you'll feel better. Don't get mad - get even.
ps ... blame the wind.

My initial reaction......remove the cable, etc.
But then........if you don't live there the neighbour can and will get revenge in some way when you're away.
Can you do anything else to annoy them ? something covert ?
I wouldn't denounce to police. They will side with the local. Also, unless you witnessed them damaging the wall it's your word against theres. They'll just say, "we didn't do it".
You have to catch them in the act.

Re: My property damaged by a neighbour.
If you push a pin through the coaxial cable it should short out the signal causing loss of signal, sneaky but effective.
Re: My property damaged by a neighbour.
If you touch the cable you are touching their property and that is illegal. In our building you are not allowed to put up dishes but if you do the community cannot remove them, only ask the owner to do it.
