Change in workers/labour/autonima Law?

Postby Unicorn » Tue Oct 23, 2018 11:23 am

Hi there

I half heard that **** had signed off on a new law pertaining to workers, autonima, contracts or similar last week, but missed the details.

Does anyone else know what it was? It was something to make life easier, I believe.

Thanks

I read something a week or so ago in the Granada daily paper. All common sense stuff.

Quite dissapointing that you have had no replies.

There is a bit in theolivepress.es today but no real detail. I think overall it will be quite good for those few expats working.

Just heard from a (legal) painter he was fined for working on a “Red” day! Is this just Murcian law, or general? The fine was €1000! A fellow worker stopped earlier was a bit quicker thinking and said he was in overalls as he was on his way home from working the night before...

I haven't heard anything about significant changes apart from my autonomo payment is now just over 300 hundred euros per month and there seems to be slightly more flexibility to how I pay income tax (IRPF). Now I can choose to pay it quarterly or monthly. I am also being informed how much the payment is each quarter whereas in the past the tax used to be worked out over the previous 2 years or so and would be split over the year in 4 equal payments.

I really don't know all the ins and outs of spanish working law. From a self employed perspective i understand that new business pays a reduction in national insurance for the first 2yrs however if i had to compare self employment to Spain and Uk i think Uk is more simplified and its just a matter of accounts going in at year end apart from vat returns every 3 mnths if vat registered.I am not surprised so many people work illegally, the spanish system of self employed people paying 300 euros every month whether working or not is quite harsh.I much prefer the system where the national insurance is charged on actual earnings.

There are discussions going on with the new Spanish Government about changing the system of contributions for autonomos to be based on actual earnings.

Is that an option for all, as a pensioner I would like that very much, no more saving for twice yearly robbery.

I don't know. I was asked by my gestor last but one time round. I decided to leave as it is. What surprised me though was his informing me that this quarter's payment is the same as last's. He had never told me that before.
