Estufa de Leña: Suppliers
A friend is looking to buy one and is disappointed with the small range displayed in shops. While she can look at catalogues, she does want to see what she is buying.
Anyone suggest somewhere in Malaga provence with a good range of cast iron woodburners on display?

Re: Estufa de Leña: Suppliers
Chimenieas Tehisu at Velez Malaga have a good selection on show and also operate the Junta rebate scheme on qualifying units. There is at least one other fire shop on the same industrial estate but I have never been there.
I am of the opinion that a specialist is the place to go.
Usual disclaimers, just a customer.

Anyone thinking of using Rofer & Rodi, please send me a PM - I can mark your card with a multi-page tale of incompetence and complete lack of customer care.....

Re: Estufa de Leña: Suppliers
The Junta give a rebate of up to 60% (yes 60) to qualifying equipment. It is based on efficiency and I think where it is made. Not all retailers operate the scheme as there is a lot of paperwork. I have recently purchased a new log burner which was 1500€ ish and the rebate was 791€ in cash about three months after installation. A good deal methinks.
Re: Estufa de Leña: Suppliers
There are certain log and pellet burners that qualify for up to 65% grants on the cost of purchase and installation, ask for one that is covered under the Subvencion scheme
"tengo interes en los modelos que llevan subvencion"
These are higher quality, and more importantly more efficient, money comes from the Junta and the EU. Take your NIE number, current padron and passport with you then you can do paperwork there to apply for the grant. Check the shop is the one that claims the grant and not you. That way you pay for most of it only on completion and the shop has the hassle of getting the grant money
Ours took 3.5 weeks from applying for grant to completed installation

Re: grants for woodburners etc.
Hi everyone,
I am new to the forum and live in a cortijo near to Huescar. The nearest large town is Baza, so can anyone recommend a shop that has the subvencian scheme near Huescar or Baza.

Re: Estufa de Leña: Suppliers
Chimeneas Martinez off the new motorway and a few km outside Albox definitely do it and they will give you the credit for subvention and do all the paperwork themselves.....I am sure they would cover your area
Re: Estufa de Leña: Suppliers
One firm offered me the grant spoke of but getting the same log burner from another firm without the grant worked out cheaper.

Can't comment on the rebate scheme, but two years ago after much looking and several visits to their showroom, we agreed to a made to measure quote for our hearth.
The surveyor/engineer/salesman was courteous, not pushy and gave a price we were happy with.
We went to the showroom to finalise things, asked how long it would take to make the stove and fit it and were told "about 10 days", we said we had five, and we wanted a particular door handle that they had on show but no longer sold (it matched curtain finials (I kow.....)), and they built a stove to fit our hearth, delivered and fitted it and supplied the handle we wanted in three days.
Perfect customer service.
Regrettably Chimenieas Tehisu aren't paying me a comission for this.....

Hi. Regarding the grant, a few questions. I bought a new efficient woodburner in the UK and had it shipped down to Spain for installation. Any idea if I have any chance of applying for the grant? If so, how and from where please. Cheers.

Dave
I see you didn't get a reply
I think you have to have it supplied and fitted in Spain by an approved agent to get the Spanish govmnt to pay up.
I have no heating so I am on the lookout for the correct agent somewhere near me (Illora).

Wendy..we stopped off at Wednesday market near Antequera last week, and a spanish chap there had a display of stoves that burn olive pellets and stones...he does however come from Alhaurin El Grande, but he fits them in and around Granada province too...gave us a quote including installation ( he says he will "manage" all government grants etc!!)
There is also a shop in Alcala la Real- along the road between main roundabout in town and Mercadona...(shop does solar panels etc) they also have these pellet stoves
pm me if you want guy in Alhaurins tel number

Re: Estufa de Leña: Suppliers
From what I understand, you can buy models from 7kw to 29kw, with capacity to use just as a stand alone stove, or some have a tank to heat hot water, and others to connect to radiators, solar panels and even your swimming pool!
