Don't worry about what people think, they don't do it very often

Miro wrote:You can't delete the post as such, but you can delete all the text in it so it's just a blank post. Click the edit icon in the top right of your post (it looks like a pencil), and then just delete the post by backspacing through it, or highlight the lot and hit backspace.
Try again. Seems you have to leave at least one character in the post (I chose an asterix!)

Just pm me and I will delete it. I do it all the time with duplicate posts. Alternatively, edit it and remove the post and replace it with “please delete”

The problem with doing what Miro suggests is if a poster replies and quotes you, which is the case here and you have just edited your post with a "Wi" and your original is still visible......just looks a bit daft........just ask a moderator to delete it. see what i mean below

Why do you want to delete your thread?

TBH most phpBB forums include the [x] button, which allows the author of a post to delete it. This is useful where a duplicate post is accientally made, or an author has had second thoughts about making a reply.

Really not sure why we don't enable that facility. Where a slip-up occurs, I usually just reduce to post to a full-stop, and leave it to the Mods to delete it. As said, you can't make a blank post.
