Dried off late afternoon yesterday, rained overnight, fine this morning, but clouds moving in again from the east - nearly had enough for a while now, will you lot stop sending it over now? Thanks .

Our local town, Morón de la Frontera, Sevilla had bad flooding yesterday, nothing compared to Campillos where a fireman has lost his life in the flooding. The A92 has been shut near Estepa ( I think ) raining again here, we have had thunder for a few hours and now raining again.

I think we have been lucky here east of Malaga as we haven't had any damaging rain despite quite violent thunder storms and downpours. The other week when Nerja had flash floods we only had a few drops of rain so I think every valley experiences different conditions, making it difficult to predict. It has really warmed up here now so the trousers and jumper have been put away for hopefully a little while longer! Currently sunny and hot at the mo.

Yes, on the whole I don't think October has been too bad so far, it was only cold for 3/4 days, really, and temperatures are set to be pretty warm for the rest of the month according to the forecasts. It was a very sudden drop, though, as elusive said. We don't know where we are with regards to what clothes to wear (back in summer gear today) or what coverings to put on the bed! We'd got a quilt out but it will have to be put away again today otherwise we'll be too warm. There's been quite a bit of rain but nothing really damaging and it should help the reservoir situation after the very dry year we had last year. I don't think it has rained all day here on any day, so for at least part of the day we've been able to get out and stay dry.

The fireman who died was in a fire engine travelling from Antequera to Campillos to help with the severe flooding, the fire engine turned over on the way there. They found his body this morning after a search. He was 48 with 2 children.
Teba, Campillos, Marchena, Morón de la Frontera, Antequera, Ardales have all had severe flooding.

OliveV - that is indeed very sad news and only reminds us of the work that the bomberos and INFOCA do for us all --- it seems that the weather has got to that side of Sevilla and not made it to us in too much quantity then. We have had several individual days of nonstop rain, but it is clear today, threatening clouds moved off to the southeast, probably heading for Cadiz again ... We have got off lightly.

Free aL - Yes, we are having dilemas about bedding - put on the light quilt a fortnight ago as things started to get a bit chilly, and today have given in, and put on the winter quilt - will probably be roasted in bed tonight, but it is such a dramatic change from the single sheet we had on only 2+ weeks ago! Not had the woodburner on yet, but it may get lit tonight! Winter drawers on!

According to AEMET it looks like it is getting very cold this weekend. Down to 7 at night on Sunday and only 16 during the day in Torrox. Of course it could all change as it does seem to hourly, but it would be an indicator that colder weather is on its way. We put the summer duvets on after a cold spell in early September but haven't needed any heating apart from the bathroom a couple of mornings. May well be log fire territory though at the weekend.

Good to hear most escaped it. Got this in my inbox today as we stay there sometimes. Bridges washed away, houses ruined by mud. Devastating.

And now we have an Orange warning from the border to Cadiz - expecting downpours - for tomorrow!!! Not a Gota Fria but a damp squibb moving up from the Canaries!! -We usually send our cast-offs down to them but something has happened to the weather this year and this is one of several episodes, a bit like that hurricane, where the southern off-shoots of depressions are heading back up north-east instead of setting off across the Atlantic to brew as hurricanes. Morrocco seems to be getting more weather than usual too!

It’s not a Gota Fría if it’s not raining. It’s just a cold wind from the north which is affecting the UK. It will be warmer later this week but heavy rain on Tuesday.

Raining here, nothing strange about that but today the central heating has been on first time this autumn. T- shirt to coat weather in a matter of days
