In 1990 the new Atalaya golf course was built next to the village of Minas de Rio Tinto, the original was founded in the 19th Century within the Rio Tinto copper mine.#
The course is 2300 metres long, with grassed greens but the fairways are bare earth, reminiscent of the original course used by miners and engineers. Squares of artificial grass are provided to help play!
The course has one par-5, four par 4s and four par 3s.
Address: Ctra. Corta Atalaya, s/n. 21660 Minas de Riotinto, Huelva.
Directions: the course is located next to the village of Minas de Riotinto. From Huelva take the Badajoz road or from Seville go towards Portugal via Aracena.
