Set in the marshlands of the Guadiano River estuary near the Atlantic Ocean, the flat course is easy to walk around without the need for a buggy. It has been designed so the natural sand dunes give shape to the narrow fairways, while the strategically placed palms trees, as well as the eucalyptus and olives, can cause some difficulties.
Seemingly straightforward at first glance, many of the holes have hidden obstacles, especially the 2nd, a Par 5 with numerous bunkers and water hazards. Another Par 5, the 17th, includes a large lake which determines where the drive and second shot are placed. Particular concentration is needed for the 18th.
