Marinas
This edition marks the first in a series of reports that will take you on a visit to the sporting harbours of Andalusia. We begin by offering you a general map and guide to all the marinas of the Costa de la Luz (Huelva and Almería). In later editions we will be telling you all that the Costa del Sol, Costa Tropical and the Costa de Almería have to offer. Andalusia, as the number of tourists shows, is one of the Europe's major touristic regions. This is due to the high quality hotels on offer as well as to its natural and cultural attractions. The marinas along the 870 km coastline offer an excellent infrastructure for water sports enthusiasts.
Andalusia's public port enterprise, Empresa de Puertos de Andalucía, was founded in January 1993 with the aim to improve the adminsitration and exploitation of the ports' infrastructures and resources Government. This company is directly in charge of handling and adminsitration of eight new water sports installations offering more than 2600 moorings: Isla Cristina and Mazagón in Huelva, Chipiona, Rota, Puerto América, Sancti-Petri and Barbate in Cádiz and Málaga's Caleta de Vélez.
