Welcome to El Garrobo!
One of the smallest towns in the province of Seville, with a population of just 765, El Garrobo dates from the Copper Age. Much later, during the French Wars of Independence, it was almost completely destroyed, tragically losing all traces of its past.

Since it is in a hilly area, hiking is a popular pastime for visitors who want to get back to nature. There is also the Minilla Reservoir, which is a popular fishing spot, with barbo comiza (carp) and grandes basses (bass).
Typical local cuisine includes pestorejo (stew of pigs ears), scrambled eggs with asparagus, and various large and small game dishes.
The fiestas of El Garrobo are its patron saints day in August, and the Romeria of Fuente Abades, also in August, when pilgrims journey to the river Guadiamar.
The town is 40 km north-west of Seville. To get to El Garrobo, take the A66 (Ruta de la Plata) towards Merida, and then turn off onto the N433 towards Aracena. El Garrobo is the first town you come to.
