Seville Province - Santiponce

The Roman ruins of Italica are probably the best-known features of Santiponce. Visitors wanting to gain a better understanding of the whole of the town’s artistic and historic heritage should also visit the Monasterio Cisterciense de San Isidoro del Campo and the Museo Francisco Marmolejo.

Even though Santiponce is located close to Seville city, it has managed to retain the charm of a small provincial town. The town is also part of two important routes: the Ruta de la Plata and the Ruta Bética Romana. The first route joins the north of Spain to the south and has been around since the Roman era. The second takes travellers through Roman towns such as Carmona, La Luisiana, Osuna and many others.
