Tomares became a town during the roman era although it should be noted that it was inhabited during prehistoric times, a fact confirmed by artefacts recovered from the Bronze and Copper ages.
To get to Tomares from Seville (7km away) you must take the SE-30 (direction Coria del Rio) and take exit 15B.
