Via Verde - LINARES
The Linares greenway runs between Linares and the Linares-Baeza station, covering a distance of six kilometres which can be explored on foot, by bike and in a wheelchair.
This greenway highlights part of the old rail route which joined the cities of Linares and Almeria; specifically the line that linked Linares-San Jose station (Almeria) with Linares-Baeza station.
Along this route you can take in the Guadalimar valley, lush greenery along the riverbanks and the traditional olive fields of the Jaen province.
Following the Linares greenway is also a great opportunity for cultural tourism: enjoy Linares’ historic and artistic heritage which includes the archaeological ruins of the Iberian city of Cástulo, in addition to religious monuments.
