Torre del Mar is a resort town on the Eastern Costa del Sol. Amongst the resort-style landscape of 70s apartment blocks, there are some simple, whitewashed one-storey fishermen’s houses dating back to the town’s pre-tourism years. In terms of the accommodation options, on top of a couple of well-priced hotels there are a number of decent holiday apartments in Torre del Mar to rent – many of which line the promenade and are within easy walking distance from the town’s large beach.
While it may not be quite as picturesque as neighbouring Nerja, Torre del Mar, is very Spanish, has excellent facilities, and comes alive with bars, restaurants and chiringuitos which line the broad sweep of its bay during the summer months. Outside of July and August – when Torre del Mar apartments tend to be hard to come by as Spanish holidaymakers from the interior head for the coast – the town can a great place for an off-season holiday, offering peace, quiet and year-round sunshine.
