Re: Empadronamiento

I'm not aware that one is available in Torrox, it's not something I have heard of. Big families only for IBI. Principales ventajas de estar empadronado en Torrox El equipo de gobierno de Torrox, a través de las distintas concejalías, promoverá acciones ventajosas para los vecinos del municipio, com...

North West corridor alone: Cáceres (unbelievable), Plasencia (Roman), Granadilla (awesome!) Salamanca (huge), Zamora (religious), Astorga (Gaudí), Las Médulas (Roman nature), Ribadeo (all the coastline here), Coruña (Hércules Tower + city centre), Rías Baixas (more unspoilt coast), Lugo (better wall...

Re: Electric mini scooters

Guess that only works for rental ones that have the GPS fitted? I was getting a taxi from Málaga airport on Saturday night and saw an electric scooter on the road go against two red lights and across a busy interchange near the bus station - balls of steel on the rider I reckon (but not lights or a ...

Sounds like what they *should* be doing in terms of closing dates, thanks.
Need to get myself on the padrón at my family address again.

Do you happen to know when Torrox Town Hall close for Xmas, Lyric? I could do with popping in on Monday when I come over but can't find any dates their website.

Re: Changing to Spanish driving licence

Gestors I use seem to charge €40 for most administrative things because it was the same price to process my car matriculation as it was to exchange driving licences, despite the former involving a fair bit more paper. I can only assume the southern ones see this as a little Brexit supply-and-demand ...

Not always the case; I had to wait two weeks for the temporary papers and gestor seemed to think this quite normal.

Sign up for the Lista Robinson, it's the oddly named Spanish database against unsolicited publicity. Google it for more or https://www.listarobinson.es/

Yep, but a good example of not assuming everyone follows UK standards.. I was smiling on my old Irish passport too; they only changed that to no smiling in the last decade (I assume to meet biometric face scanning standards).

Re: Bank charges from Deutsche bank

The second one is definitely a bit of a rip-off, but quite legal. You are required to prove your residence status to your bank by producing a relevant certificate. If you don't, they can apply for one on your behalf - and charge you nicely for doing it! Not this is tax/fiscal residence, so from Haci...

Not true for driving licences in Spain. Girlfriend was even told to smile by woman taking it!

Re: Changing to Spanish driving licence

I got mine within a month, but used a regional firm of gestors to do it. They supposedly had people chasing trafico every day, which is reasonable to imagine if they are popping in there all the time for other business.

Re: Evidence for adding girlfriend to padron - no rent paid, no bills

Hey, been moving house! Well, I tried contacting the town hall but they never replied. Lawyer suggested just trying the online form for me but yes we would need to get everything to sign for g/friend so I'm holding off until family are all together. In the meantime we've just set up a postal redirec...

Re: Bank Charges

Aside from cash machines, I just had some bumpf from Sabadell which seems to suggest they are going to start charging a maintenance for their previously free salary-deposit current account. They seem to be calculated differently. If you look here https://www.dieselogasolina.com/CALCULAR-PRECIO-IMPUESTO-CIRCULACION-IVTM.HTML then it seems that IVTM tax is based on CV, which I called power. The matricula / registration tax seems to be the one based on emissions. https://www.dieselogasoli...

Re: Headlamp adaptors for lhd car in uk

I got stopped in France just before we crossed into Belgium. They asked me some questions such as where I was going and asked me if I was travelling with more than 10,000 Euros. I wasn't until about a week later when we were on the ferry crossing into the UK, did I realise that France requires driv...
