No MOT. Scrap it. It's illegal. Or use it for visitors!

Re: Why some Spanish Bank Accounts are being blocked

I’m with Unicaja and they’ve just unilaterally introduced 2 factor authorisation so to even see my balance I have to enter a code texted to my mobile. Of course they didn’t give any reasonable warning so here I am unable to see any and all transactions. They do have a mobile number because I use it ...

Re: DELPASO Car Hire – A cautionary tale.

If they find a scratch we just claim on the annual insurance. We do take photos but if the insurance will pay anyway i wonder of its worth it. Delpasso gets horrid reviews. Budget outfits like Record, Goldcar and OK rentals have cleaned up their acts recently but Delpasso seems stuck in the dark age...

Re: Alhambra

Hmm, thanks for that. Its about time they did this. I guess the May tickets will be on sale March 1st or thereabouts. Hopefully they'll do the same on the Caminito of which 90% must go to agents and hotels.

Valley of the Fallen

So, i understand that Franco's body has been exhumed. But using the same logic (that the edifice should truly be a memorial to both sides in the civil war) why is Primo de Rivero still effectively lying in state as founder of the Falange - a movement dedicated to creating a right wing dictatorship a...

Re: Car Hire Malaga Airport

I had 1200 taken out of my account with Malagacar because I had my own insurance. I have written of my experience of my latest hire at New Year a few posts down on 'Car Hire Malaga or Gibraltar [email protected]. Have a look No. you didn't have 1200€ "taken out" of your account. It was blocked aga...

You don't part with it, anyway its the same with Helle and Malagacar if you decline their insurance, so no difference.

Re: Car Hire Malaga Airport

I always get my own excess insurance policy (I use https://www.icarhireinsurance.com/ ) and never take the car hire company's one which is far more expensive. You'll still the excess deposit blocked on your credit card but it cuts down the extra cost and gives me peace of mind. A friend has been ri...

Re: Car Hire Malaga Airport

If the price looks too good to be true it will be. Expect to part with 1200 euros deposit on your card with the real cheap hire companies. The big boys like Helle Holis charge more but are less of a rip off and are more transparent on there web sites. No, you don't "part" with 1200€. They...

Crab

Curious. Why, when there is a lot of lobster, gambas, crayfish etc for sale there is a distinct lack of fresh crab. Yes, i've seen it in Eroski but its not exactly common. I would have thought it was no more a cold water crustacean than lobster, for example.

This is a hypothetical question..if I was to buy a rural property and decided to rent it out as a holiday rental during the summer while I was away what do I need to do in order to have a license? Re: Holiday rental

What is the Spanish legal difference between a holiday let and a long term let (where presumably there are fewer onerous conditions)? For example does the property have to be let to the same person for say 3 moths or longer?
