Re: Empadronamiento

So a total bill of 1053€ a year.
The post was about the cost of "house tax" in Spain compared with the UK.
How much would an equivalent house be in the UK.?

Re: Empadronamiento

Correct I am registered. One of the first things I did when I arrived in Spain nearly 16 years ago.
Just wasn't aware Velez Malaga Ayuntomeinto offered discounts on IBI bills.
But since my IBI bill is less than €50 a year I'm not to bothered in missing out on the discount.

Re: ITV Documents

Definitely strange.
I just had a look for the fun of it.
Nothing for Algarrobo.
Plenty of slots available next Mon-Fri in Mijas.
A few available Mon-Wed in El Palo

Re: Empadronamiento

Must have missed that but since my IBI is ridiculously low and the increase due to the cadastral values being revised made only a few euros difference, I'm not bothered if I missed out on the discount.

Re: Empadronamiento

No discount where I live in the Velez Malaga area that I am aware of. No separate charge for busuras whereas some town halls make a separate charge.
I believe it is up to up town hall to decide whether or not to give a discount.

Re: Health Card

I don't think you can access that area with just your health card.
I think you need a digital signature or similar but their system is down at the moment.
Or just go into any pharmacia and they will tell you.

Yes you do. I normally go to all the Cudeca dances but I won't be at that one.
I have sent you a PM with the booking information.

Try using the "No Bastidor" option rather than the "Fecha Matriculation" option.
Works every time for me.

Re: UK Civil Service Pensions post Brexit

To be of any use they should demand better proof, but this would be a right PITA! I agree that a letter had to be signed wouldn't prove I'm still alive. That is why my pension provider sent me £10 via Western Express. I had to go to one of their agents who checked that the name on my passport was t...

Re: importing questions

Welcome to the forum. A RHD van can not be transferred onto Spanish registration plates. A RHD camper/ motorhome can be provided it has side windows behind the driver/ passenger seats. Should be no problem importing, from within the EU, a LHD van/camper van/ motorhome into Spain and getting it onto ...

Re: ITV Documents

Out of interest just had another look a booking an appointment at my local centre. First available was 3rd March but there were appointments available every day that week. It appears to me that they release dates for a week and when all appointments are taken for that week, they then release dates f...

When I looked in December I got message to saying that there weren't any available dates at my local centre. Some dates were available at other centres.
A few days later and it showed dates available at my local centre.
So, try again in a couple of days.

Re: Buying a rural property - are any legal??

You'll not find out what skeletons are in the cupboard until you come to sell. Never be smug. That applies to old properties as well as recent builds. Beware. But if someone has recently bought a property then someone else has sold the property to the new owner. So the buyer doesn't have to wait un...

Re: Buying a rural property - are any legal??

Also it is worth noting that only the horror stories about people buying illegal properties get reported.
Stories about people buying legal properties rarely get reported.
I suspect, hope, that there are more legal properties bought than illegal ones.

I asked our private doctor and he said he wasn't aware of any.
I'll try the health service doctor.
Do you have a link to the online tests?

Alzheimer tests

Are there any tests available, here in Spain, for early stages of Alzheimer's disease/ dementia?
I believe there isn't any available cures but if it is diagnosed early enough than the the development can be slowed done.
Please no flippant answers this is a very serious question.
