Re: Football Thread

I'm a regular visitor to the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium in Sevilla. Highlights so far this season have been victories against Barca, R Madrid & Juventus.
The low point being totally outclassed by Man City.

Re: Christmas eve in Seville

Most restaurants in Seville will be closed on the evening of the 24th.
This is when the Spanish celebrate Christmas, at home with all the family around the table for a slap up meal.
A hotel would be your best bet.

If you really want to give the gov a loan, you would probably be better off buying premium bonds :)

What about cooking fat ??

Well that's something similar to what I called the one that had sneaked into my garage the other day and left its calling card.

Re: green oranges

Don't panic. I'm no expert but I do live on a street that is bordered by orange trees and every year the pavement gets covered in tiny green oranges, yet they still produce loads of fully grown ones. Once the blossom has died off you will start to see this years fruit growing. Incidentally here's a ...

Sounds like a couple of characters we have had at our door, one actually had a factura from Endesa in his hand.
On both occasions they were trying to get us to change from Endesa to another supplier. :shifty:

Re: Endesa ICP and Smart Meters

Our meter is located inside in the porch, If we are out the front door is closed and there is no access to Endesa.

It was changed to a smart meter without any problem (fitted in the same location) and without any charge a couple of years ago.

Re: fishing licence

Sorry to hear that.
Maybe I just got lucky? The 2 licences from 1991 to 1995 rule was there when I applied for mine, but the 2 licences I sent were for well after and they were still accepted. Who on earth saves old fishing licences for over 20yrs?

Re: Peg Away............

If the pegs are of the plastic variety they become very brittle if used in strong sunlight (especially the darker ones), maybe a good gust of wind blowing through your smalls was enough to cause them to flap around and put too much stress on the weakened pegs? :D

Re: Alora by train

You don't have to wait for the bus, it will be waiting outside the station. We did the trip from Malaga quite a few years ago but to be honest it hardly seemed worth it. Once you get off the bus in Alora there is not much to see and every street seems to have at least a 1 in 4 incline. Then to cap it...

Re: Driving licence expiry dates...

That is correct, you are still licenced to drive a car after your HGV licence expires. I was in this position a few years ago whereby I was due the medical to renew my HGV licence. Because I no longer needed to drive trucks after retiring I contacted the dvla for clarification and was told to ignore...

Re: fishing licence

This is an account of my experience on getting hold of a Spanish fishing licence that I posted on another forum a few years ago, but it's still valid today. It's more expensive doing it through a 3rd party, but far much easier in order to gain your first licence. In order to fish in Andalucia you wi...

I'm shocked that nobody has pointed out that Gordon's neighbour could not have had a frozen stalagmite hanging from her nose, as every schoolboy learns that "mites" go up & "tights" come down. :)

Just changed mine last week. Total cost including a new regulator, 80cm of rubber date stamped pipe, plus 2 new jubilee clips was 8 euros 26c. Took me all of 5 mins to fit. One good tip I was given was to place the ends of the new pipe in a glass of hot water to soften whilst you remove the old one,...

Re: Car Parking in Granada ?

I find this site very helpful in finding places to park in places I'm not too familiar with. Just enter the city you require and then click on the red boxes to get further information on number of spaces, prices and opening hours etc. Hope it is of use to someone. http://en.parkopedia.es/p...
