Retro, what format is the video clip?
I have a Minolta Dimage Xt - obsolete now! - which has a video clip function. the clip is quicktime format. I really want to change it to Mpeg or AVI, so that I can use the microsoft movie maker software, that comes with xp, to make the clips into a longer movie.
Has anyone any ideas how to change quicktime into avi ?

Try Googling it - there are hundreds of converters.

You could try this for starters

Colinm, It's mpeg, you can use it on any computer with the following operating systems:
win 98
win me
win 200 service pack 4
win xp service pack 1 and 2

you can also use it with a mac if you have pre installed.
mac os x (v10.2-v10.3

Hope this info is of some use to you!

Thanks Retro, I didn't know that I could get a camera that would have mpeg video clip!
Thanks for the link Sid. I suppose I really meant a 'free' converter! I have tried some the links and they all give a sample and then want credit card details. I really am loathed to give credit card details to someone who I don't know. I'd rather go to Dixons or PCworld and pay twice the price than give card details to a 'stranger'!

Try this one. I haven't checked but it is supposed to be freeware:

or this download site:

and some comments about it:

I use Nero for this kind of thing. It is not cheap but contains a whole suite of useful software.

I drove all the way to Andorra to buy my camera, because they're very cheap there. I saved €100. When I added up the cost of fuel and overnight stops, I realised my thinking was slightly flawed, but I enjoyed the trip anyway. I swore I would only ever buy a "brand" name camera, but some smooth talking sales guy convinced me to buy something that sounds more like a food blender. Apparently the lens is Pentax, although it doesn't say so on the camera. It has about 50 billion pixels, 3x optical zoom, 2.5" LCD screen PLUS an old-fashioned view finder, and I'm chuffed to bits with it. It's called a Starblitz, supposedly made in Barcelona. I've never seen one outside the shop in Andorra, but some guy in a computer shop round here thinks he's heard of them. They do have a website: http://www.starblitz-dp.com/
Don't worry about what people think, they don't do it very often
