Finding a member
Finding a member
I've just tried to send a message to a member of this forum. To find his contact details, I looked at the member listing. Whilst you can look at the first letter of the name, within any letter, names are then listed by date of joining, rather than alphabetically. So then I had to find a post he had made and look up the date he joined the forum. Is it me, and is there an easier way to find someone, or do we need to ask for the member list to be fully alphabetic?

if it is a member who is posting recently just click on the name on one of his posts
Re: Finding a member
I tried that, but then it put all his (irrelevant) post into the message.

Hi alisonb,
If you know the name of the member....type it in the name box in the Compose Message box and add,
then you have a clean "message" sheet to write in.
If you're not sure of the members "handle"............then use Search ..."by Author" and put a bit of the members name in i.e alison*
If they have a recent post then just click on the PM under their picture.

All my best learning experiences start with a problem I need to solve.

Problem solved. In "user panel" then "private messages" you get to "compose message". I couldn't find that before! Cheers guys. I still think the member list should be properly alphabetic though
