Amazon Won't Deliver my Oven to my village, why?
I have tried to order an oven with Amazon in the Black Friday sale but they won't deliver to our village in Periana, why? It is an Amazon sourced item and despatched by them which is why I don't understand it, especially as we have ordered a fridge/freezer that WILL be delivered to us !
Re: Amazon Won't Deliver my Oven to my village, why?
I would suggest an email to Amazon

Did you order it from Amazon UK or Amazon Spain?

It’s only been recently that anyone delivers to my village. Seur is good. Amazon less so and MRW are hopeless. We have delivery boxes in our local garage now and most things seem to be delivered there. Not sure how the system works though.

We are in Periana and most suppliers don't mind delivering to us. We did have one parcel go missing from an independent trader on Amazon and Amazon still can't find out what happened to it, even though they had got a signature for it that didn't belong to anyone in this house, when they were asked if they got the NIE No. on delivery, they couldn't produce it ! Now the supplier company has contacted us to say that they will deliver it themselves and not through Amazon!Lavanda wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2024 2:26 pm It’s only been recently that anyone delivers to my village. The problem is with the delivery companies that actually end up doing the deliveries (and its not just Amazon). They are the typical "White Van Man". Sometimes, usually only in towns) Amazon have their own Logoed Black vans.
We live just 1.5km up an asphalted road outside the town. In 20 or so years we have only had about 10 actual deliveries to the house. They were Corte Ingles, Leroy Merlin and Mercadona. We always make sure we include our phone number in the address so that they have no excuse to just claim the address is incorrect. We usually get a call and arrange to meet at the local Repson station, and sometimes agree for them to leave the pacake with them.
Generally, it works well, but recently we asked the driver if he knew where we lived. Yes, he said, but I'm not coming up there for one package!
We don't even get postal deliveries - we have a numbered PO Box which we have to pay for. We are well used to the system now - one of the few downsides of living in Spain!

?problems with deliveries?!!! ... one delivery company even told us our address/hamlet didnt exist!!! ... and amazon.es has decided that lavender oil cannot be delivered to drop boxes at Puente don Manuel cos it's a 'dangerous liquid' ... even tho they have previously delivered it several times to said boxes!!!

I've never lived anywhere in Spain with an address, so am very used to not getting things delivered. At least nowadays there are collection points (which often happen to be the local post office) which many companies use. Ikea are good for smaller items as it's only 1€ to have it delivered to the PO as a pick up point which is great for us. That is one of our things on our wish list when we move, an address (plus a water supply!).
