Correos / Aduanas
First of all Happy New Year to everyone, and I hope you have all enjoyed the festivities so far.
Over the Christmas period I received two parcels from the UK, both with the declaration of contents and value stuck on in the UK when being posted. The first one was a Scarf for my wife, declared value of 22 Euros, and the second one containing a polo top and a book for me, declared value of 45 Euros. On the first parcel I had to pay the Postman ( Caleta DE Velez ) 10 Euros, and on the second one 10.40 Euros. There was no official Aduana stamp, or indication as to how the amount had been calculated, only the amount due handwritten on the declaration on the parcel, and no receipt issued for the payment I made.
Can anyone enlighten me on the regulations regarding parcels from the UK post *beep*, only I have a strong suspicion that the local Caleta DE Velez Correos postman is having my trousers down, and who would I contact if this is the case.
Many thanks in advance for any replies.

Re: Correos / Aduanas
I know it's very frustrating that we can no longer receive or send even small parcels without having to pay ludicrous fees.
I doubt that the postman is deceiving you, but it's a shambolic system, you should have been asked for your e-mail address and you then receive a receipt.
Thank you Boris and Nigel for mucking everything up ...
Regards,
Gordon

Re: Correos / Aduanas
I got charged €7 on a 10GBP calendar! The moral, don't send anything from the UK. For most things it's easier and cheaper for people in the UK to use Amazon Spain or other Spain based options (M&S).

Re: Correos / Aduanas
So true Sid, I've asked family and friends not to send anything by post or courier now, the easy option is to transfer some funds into my account, and I now do the same for family birthdays etc.
This year I've received quite a few Christmas cards from UK, but not had to pay any extra, and I make sure that I get free calendars from my bank and local businesses ..
I now buy my cod liver oil and turmeric capsules from Germany, good quality and a little cheaper than Spain, also quick delivery.
Regards,
Gordon

I buy cod liver oil capsules from Amazon Spain. Do you have a link where you get yours?

Re: Correos / Aduanas
I've got an account with them actually as I've used them for saw palmetto capsules. I take it for prostate problems.El Cid wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 5:16 pm Try https://www.simplysupplements.es

It's got nothing to do with pets. Try again, the link works for me and I have used them for years. Try using different fingers!

I don't want to fall out with you Sid but I have used them for years and I really can't find any cod liver oil capsules apart from these for dogs, It's Benidorm who mentioned cod liver oil capsules from Germany and I'm hoping he'll answer and send a link. This is all I can find on Simply Supplements searching cod liver oil or aceite https://www.simplysupplements.es/vitapa ... ara-perros

Re: Correos / Aduanas
I'm interested in where you get your capsules from, can you post a link. Thank you. I used to get mine from a company called Healthspan who just stopped doing their Jointcare capsules which contained cod liver oil and I think chondritin . They really worked for me.BENIDORM wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 12:18 pm So true Sid, I've asked family and friends not to send anything by post or courier now, the easy option is to transfer some funds into my account, and I now do the same for family birthdays etc.

Re: Correos / Aduanas
Apologies to Sid then. I did a full search and it didn't show these. Admittedly I searched cod liver oil initially but aceite the next time and still didn't get it.
Now I've clicked on the link it's coming up in the search every time. Weird but thank you

Re: Correos / Aduanas
Fyfin, I do apologise for my slow response I've been extra busy ..sorry.
I now get my omega 3 oil capsules and turmeric-black pepper capsules from WWW.eltabia.de.
I've purchased them from many different companies over the years and the products I get from eltabia seem to be realistically priced and top quality.
There are cheaper products around but in my opinion not a patch on the products from this company.
I buy 1000 at a time 37.99 euros and if you spend over 50 euros they are post free.
I also get my turmeric with black pepper capsules, great for such ailments as knee problems ,I've been taking one a day for quite a few years ,I did try a few months without them and did suffer so take 1 every day, they have certainly worked for me.
The turmeric capsules are a few euros more expensive than the fish oil ,if interested enter Kurkuma in their search thingy.
If you want to try them for your oil capsules try entering code :eltabia20 for a discount of 20% hopefully, but don't tell anyone that I told you.
I don't know if you eat tinned tomatoes ( plum ) ,served hot, I have them for breakfast at least 3 times a week on toast ( integral ) and I only use butter.
They are full of goodness ,rich in lycopene, vitamins a.c.k, reducing problems with heart disease and cancer, eye health, blood clotting, blood pressure etc.
They are reputed to be extra helpful for men's problems such as prostate issues, but generally good for everyone.
We buy them usually from Lidl approx. 1.35 e a big tin and we get 3 breakfasts for 2 from 1 tin , so very economical.
Again we've been eating them since the beginning of time... .
Next patient please......

Re: Correos / Aduanas
LOL, BENIDORM, thank you for the comprehensive reply. I usually use Amazon for most stuff as I get free delivery with Prime and I've had a look at Eltabia. Sehr Gut ! It's funny seeing everything in German because I actually ordered a Microwave from Amazon.de thinking because it was an identical model to the UK one that the display would be in English or at least I could change it. My wife has been learning the German words for potatoes, bread etc lol.
Tomatoes have always been a thing with me, I buy the little ones and eat them like sweets. I do think cod liver oil and Omega 3 certainly help the old joints and we're in olive oil country so use that all the time too.
I'm lucky to be in reasonable health - on no meds but I take my supplements. My Dad is 97 this year and also fairly healthy so good genes maybe.
