Noche de San Juan

Postby gerryh » Mon Jun 18, 2018 7:25 pm

Saturday is the Noche de San Juan.
Since we have lived here we have gone to the beach in Rincon de la Victoria.
In the earlier years there where family groups having barbecues on the beach, bonfires at midnight and most people swimming in the sea, or paddling, at midnight.
It was a great atmosphere.
A the years have gone on the family groups have declined, very few people swimming at midnight and mainly groups of young people drinking their tinnies.
No atmosphere whatever.
Are their any beaches, Nerja to Rincon that still celebrate Noche de San Juan in the more traditional way?
Cheers
Gerry

Hi Gerry, you could always give Torre del Mar a go, was there 2 yrs ago and was very traditional and mainly families. Last year we were just a bit further along coast towards Nerja at Caleta de Velez which was very busy and mainly family groups, and people enjoying barbies, bonfires and was a great atmosphere and masses of people of all ages in the sea at midnight. Enjoy wherever you end up.

Gerry, La Cala Del Moral is very family orientated. Walk through the tunnels or park at supersol in La Cala and walk across to the beach.
