Details of the Seminar
On Tuesday, 20th March, the British Chamber of Commerce will meet with Mr. Paulino Plata, the old Minister for Tourism, Commerce and Sport for the Junta de Andalucía and candidate for the Mayor of Marbella. This event, organised by the Chamber will be held with more than 50 businessmen/women for a debate on Mr. Plata’s town projects.
The seminar will take place at the Hotel Fuerte Miramar-Spa at 19:30 in Marbella and will consist of a presentation by Mr. Plata speaking on the theme of “Marbella Deserves More”.
Details of the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain
The British Chamber of Commerce, with nearly 100 years’ presence in Spain, has just created its first Regional Committee in Andalucía.
Even though the British Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit-making NGO, it works closely with the British Exterior Minister, the British Embassy and Consulate, as well as other government agencies, both regional and national.
The British Chamber of Commerce has over 300 members, including members such as “la Caixa”, Burberry, Sanitas, BT and British Airways.
Events in the British Embassy and Consulate, talks with political figures on regional, national and international levels, presentations and seminars with distinguished businessmen from finance and industry sectors; these are but a few of the services offered in the Chamber’s agenda for 2007.

Paulino Plata Canovas
Minister of the Andalucían Government where he remained for 12 and a half years in charge of Agriculture and Fishing and later of Tourism, Commerce and Sport. He formed part of the Town Council of Antequera in the Municipal Elections of 1979 and was elected Mayor in 1987 and then again in 1991, until he was elected to the Andalucían Parliament where he has preserved his seat since 1982. He has participated as guest speaker in multiple symposiums and national and foreign congresses in France, Great Britain, Germany, Belgium, Greece, Poland, the United States of America, Mexico, Brasil and Japan, and chairing the committees in a lot of them.
