You'll need around 60cu to fill it. Around here 4cu truck is 60euros, 7.5cu is 90euros... Better hope that it rains a lot...

is it illegal to use "town water" ? if we filled 60m3 it would only be 60€ for the lot.

might take about a week to do it tho.

The water tariffs depend on where you are. It it's the first time you have filled the pool, it's worth checking to avoid a surprise when you get the bill.

I have a friend in Torrox and the charges go up in stages depending on how much water you have (presumably during the month). I his case they go very high and it will cost him over €1000 a fill.

Yes, it is only 1€ per m3. Our landlord was horrified that the bill was 30€ for two months in the summer, because we had a sprinkler on in the garden :wtf:

It does vary alot from town to town - my girlfriend used to live in Alhaurin de la Torre and she tells me that the bill was around 60€ a month for her apartment

The most recent prices for Alhaurín el Grande were published in 2013 and are as follows:

Up to 50m3 - €0,47
Between 50m3 and 120 m3 - €0,85
Between 120m3 and 300m3 - €1,11

The water is pure and potable and comes from underground springs in the mountains.

The piped irrigation water comes from the same source and costs €0,10 per cubic meter but it is not purified.

We had a similar problem, when we had work done on our pool and need it emptying. Decided the cost of using tankers was too expensive, so just used the mains water, took about 3 days or so to fill 50 cubic meter pool. Apparently, you are not supposed to do it, but I am sure most people do. If you can, try to do it over two payments periods, so its not so obvious.

Had a Facebook notification from our town hall that it is absolutely necessary to contact them before refilling a swimming pool with town water. Maybe this is just a reminder of the legality of it, or are they are wanting to now enforce some sort of licence.

The notification didn't have a Junta or local town hall letter heading so I assume it's just a warning/reminder.

How would that work for people without facebook?

maybe all people with swimming pools have a facebook.

Maybe for municipalities with limited storage a draw of say 75 cu metres in one day would be a big hit especially on a hot weekend.

Ive often wondered that myself. My girlfriend and i dont have any social media accounts.

Its like events that happen.. We only find out about things when its reported about afterwards.. We never saw it advertised anywhere before hand so missed out on whatever it was.

Neither do my wife or I but we have registered with the town hall via our digital certificates for notifications that may affect us. We even applied for, and were granted, permission to burn garden waste etc by internet application where, in the past, it has always been necessary to go to the town hall to apply.

If push came to shove Idon't think 'notification by Fakebook' would carry much weight especially given the fact that 80% of the accounts are either fake or multiple accounts operated by a series of individual scammers. I believe this is commonplace over most antisocial media platforms which totally destroys their credibility.

I think someone has already suggested filling the pool over a period that spans two billing cycles which, though not foolproof, does help to make it seem less obvious what you have done.

The number of town halls that now have a 'Sede Electronica' has increased drastically over the past few years. If your town hall has one it will probably be shown on its home page with a link to it.
