I can't see why not. There is nothing toxic about them. The only plants that I know should not be burned are Adelfas (Oleanders).

so ...I have survived burning those natal plum branches ...but I have also heard that wisteria is not good to burn ... funny story: I have a major wisteria growing overhead over the patio ... last night, and all night, I could hear seed pods cracking open and spitting seeds all over the patio ... the temperature must have been just right for them ... this morning the patio was covered in said pods and seeds!!!

Wisteria seeds are very toxic, so I guess that probably accounts for it. One of the most toxic plants which is very common in Spain is the Castor Oil plant which grows everywhere. Just eating 8 seeds is fatal! Burning that is probably not a good idea.

Talking of Wisterea, have you ever seen a Petrea? It's even more impressive than a Wisteria. You do see it in Spain. It has very similar cascades of blue flowers.
