Another VPN (Browsec) Question!

Postby telboy » Tue Oct 06, 2015 4:46 pm

Despite be able to watch BBC, ITV, and Channel 5 via Browsec on my PC, Channel 4 (and related channels) states that 'service is not currently available in my area' :!: :wtf:

Any ideas :?:

I had the same and found that The VPN hadn't been switched on. Have you signed in with English Postcode?

Try changing the time on your PC to UK time.

If your problem persists why not try UKTVNow. Doesn't need VPN. Has loads of channels including sky. Just have to put up with the adverts. Great standby.

Channel 4 doesn't work on a PC unless the PC is set to UK time.

Tried adding a UK post code in account set up plus setting MacBook to UK time, no connection though, still getting the same message, I have rebooted my Mac after changes as well as making sure cookies are 'allowed' for the website. :!: :wtf:

As I said I can get BBC and ITV, so Its not a Browsec problem.

C4 is very sensitive to AdBlockers, if you are using one you may need to disable it for C4.

That's true, I've had to disable Adboc in chrome for the channel 4 site but if that were the case, you should get a message.

Strangely enough :wtf: I can connect to Channel 4 live via tvguide.co.uk but, not direct through Channel 4.com without the error message, even after trying all the suggestion by fellow forum posters:crazy: Obviously I can now connect to Channel 4 and associated channels by this method (even with Adblock enabled), I cant use the Catch Up service.

Channel 4 also considers Ghostery an ad blocker. I have to switch both off for it to work.
