Apple TV is now available on the Fire stick. What makes it a little more interesting than Amazon's own content is the possibility of watching newer films in UHD. I checked a new rental release on Amazon called Yesterday, On Amazon it was £11.99 in HD while on Apple TV it was 11.99 Euros and 4.99 Euro to rent in UHD.
On the other hand, It's possible to rent episodes of the Beeb's new David Attenborough documentaries but they are free in the iPlayer and in glorious UHD. Well worth watching.
I doubt it though if I will take out a subscription and will be sticking with Netflix for the moment but I might watch the occasional film if I particularly fancy it.

Agreed, the new Attenborough "Seven Worlds One Planet" is staggeringly good in UHD on iPlayer
