You might be better off with a free OCR program - I use FreeOCR which I found while googling, but there are plenty to choose from (or at least there was a couple of years ago when I downloaded mine) :-)

Good morning pensure1988,

Are you using the Epson printer software on the computer system to scan the letter :?:

Going on the software supplied by both HP and Canon for their printers there are loads more options for scanning files than you memtioned, the basic one .txt is included.

Out of interest what is the model of the Epson printer.

Opening a .pdf file with Foxit Reader, changed some settings as per link below, saved it to clip board and Pasted it into a Note Pad file and/ or Google Translate

Good Morning Enrique

Thank you for all your advice. I downloaded FreeOCR and managed to covert both my letters to Text using this program. Copied all the text from the letters into Google Translate and managed to obtain the English Translation alright. I will try you way as well to see how it works.

My Epson all-in-one Software did not come with ABBYY FineReader. How do I add now please.

Hi David,
"How do I add now please.".........looks like if it didn't come with the printer you'll have to stick with your current procedure.

There are "free" copies around the Web but the ones I've looked at I'd steer clear of....you may have better luck searching.

There is a paid version of ABBYY FineReader as it's not an Epson product.
