Recommendation for insuring a motorbike?
Recommendation for insuring a motorbike?
Hi there, I've recently moved here and am looking at buying a Vespa and wondered what insurance companies I should check out? Any other suggestions? (I may be bonkers taking to the road here on a bike, but I've been riding for a few years). Also can a 125cc be ridden on the A7?

Try IBEX for insurance.
Re: Recommendation for insuring a motorbike?
Try Linea Directa, they insure motorbikes.
Can a Vespa maintain a minimum speed of 60KPH?
I believe that vehicles which can't maintain a minimum speed of 60 KPH aren't allowed to use Autovias such as the A7.
Cheers

I'm with Linea Directa. If you have full bike licence you can ride a 125 cc anywhere!

I 've been quoted €840.00 by Mapfre for a 1200 cc bike that includes an allowance of 45% of my existing n c b, in the U K .brentles wrote:Hi there, I've recently moved here and am looking at buying a Vespa and wondered what insurance companies I should check out? I'm 55, but don't see how that would affect anything?costakid wrote:Also can a 125cc be ridden on the A7?

Thanks Gerry, yes, it can maintain 60 (a 125 can do a 100 KPH with the wind behind me!)gerryh wrote:Try Linea Directa, they insure motorbikes.

OK thanks. I read a few bad comments about Linea Directa but could just be the odd bad experience.ajtg1952 wrote:I'm with Linea Directa. If you have full bike licence you can ride a 125 cc anywhere!

I'm only after a 125cc so the price should be a lot less than 840.00!Manchesteral wrote:I 've been quoted €840.00 by Mapfre for a 1200 cc bike that includes an allowance of 45% of my existing n c b, in the U K .brentles wrote:Hi there, I've recently moved here and am looking at buying a Vespa and wondered what insurance companies I should check out? Just to give you a good experience with Linea Directa. I parked up my 250 cc Scooter at Malaga airport, opposite the taxi pick up area] for 6 days. Unfortunately, the underseat light didn't go off. I usually check but I was locking up at 5 am after a 90 minute run.brentles wrote:OK thanks. So on return at midnight last Tuesday the battery was lifeless. I phoned Linea Directa on their English line. 30 minutes the Grua arrived. Started on the first turn with a jump. Ran it for 10 minutes and loaded up. One piece winter suit on [you'll know how long that takes], luggage on board and away. Forgot to put my gloves on so stopped after 200m and swithced off to open the seat. Of course, it wouldn't start. Phoned Linea and same Grua back in 15 minutes. He checked the charging and it wasn't. He phoned Linea and he agreed that the Scooter would go to his yard in North Malaga and I would be taken home [70 kms] by taxi.
Bike on the back, nice warm cab, and the taxi was waiting at the yard for me. He took me home, including my 500m track, with a smile dropping me off at 3am.
The Scooter was delivered at 7pm last night . All it cost me was my signiture. I only have third party covery. Seemless care, fantastic, no fuss, service. I only pay 270 euros a year!
