recommendations for car window tinting shop?

Postby qe2ex » Sat Jun 22, 2019 5:16 pm

Anyone have recommendations for a shop that does a good job of installing car window tint? (interested in the heat/UV-blocking properties only)

Something between Marbella and Malaga preferably.

Thanks, but it doesn't seem to recommend any shops, and I'm not sure how applicable the laws it discusses are either.
I tried to mail solarfilmspain.com, but the mail bounced back.

I can recommend this shop now: https://lamitecmalaga.com

Slightly more expensive than a rather big chain (Solarcheck), but trying to arrange something with the bigger chain was a PITA. One branch said I had to leave the car there the whole day (why? Because he's so busy. Cannot schedule some time? No, sorry, very busy. Better you try somewhere else. Errr, ok.), another declined to give any price estimate (though I had already gotten the price estimate from the "main" branch, which asked me to contact this particular branch for installing) without seeing the car first, and presumably then have to come back another time for the job.

Sent Lamitec info about car model and year, they quoted a price via WhatsApp, scheduled a time, and did a good job at the scheduled time while I waited. All arranged via WhatsApp in a tidy manner.

I installed the clearest film they had (AIR-80) as I'm only interested in the UV-protection on all windows. They warned they could only give certificates for the rear window glass and rear side glass, as such are the silly Spanish laws on this, so guess I'll have to pull off the film on the other windows at the next ITV (in four years, since the car is new?), or if I get unlucky during a road-side police control. I'm having a really hard time seeing there is film installed myself though, even after seeing them install it, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will at least sail through the average road-side check and I'll see what happens at ITV before removing it I guess.

Shop was fwiw recommended me by a high-end car detailer I stopped by in Marbella, quite far away.
