Registered letter from Hacienda

Postby elizabennett » Mon Sep 23, 2024 10:36 am

We have a property in Spain, but are not residents. Last week, the administration of our property told me that the post tried to deliver a registered letter from Hacienda. As the receptionist at the building could not accept it without authorization from us, the post kept the letter. We will not be in Spain until December. What should we do in the interim to get the letter delivered to the building. I have given the admin manager the authority to sign for it and scan it to us. What could it be about? We are up to date on all of our tax payments.

Mystery solved. We engaged a Gestoría to follow up on it. It's a strange one: according to Hacieda, a contractor who did some renovation on our kitchen owes money on tax. Hacienda sent registered mail to all the clients for whom he had done work in the past year, asking that any outstanding payment to said contractor be paid to them, not to him.
