Horses are a major attraction in Andalucía. Not
only do they form an integral part of local traditions - still
taking part in many modern-day fiestas, festivals and other events
- they also serve tourists well.
You can rent horses in order to explore rural areas, which is an educational
experience in itself, or you can sign up for riding classes at one of the
numerous stables that are open to the public.
Along the Costa del Sol, where
many foreigners live, it is easy to find an academy that will prepare you
for British riding certifications. However, some academies only offer basic
lessons with no possibility to obtain certifications or diplomas.
