Hi,
Some gotchas while Renewing two Digital Signatures.......... mybe of interest.

System Windows 10 22H2
Firefox 118.0.1 (64-bit)
Google Chrome 117.0.5938.132 (64-bit)

as it will be four years since you got it ........the instructions are on the site

Download and install the latest FNMT-RCM and Autofirma Software

Some popup boxes will Hide behind the Browser window.............

when you have completed one and Downloaded the Certificate you may have another to complete.........currently my version of Firfox dosen't ask which Certificate to use and stays locked in with the first Certificate.

So over to Chrome and do the second one there as the Default allows one to choose the Certificate.

You may just sail through on your system ................the above might help you renew without loosing to much sleep.........

Check out the new Digital Cerificates then.............

NB: Make backup copies on different media/systems by using the Export/Backup Option depending on Browser.

Interesting point with the "new renewal software"........... all the supported Browsers that you may have on your system e.g. (Firefox, Chrome, Edge)

will get updated with the New Digital Signatures without having to use the Import option.

Yes, it expires.
Have a look at your certificate and it shows the expiration date.
I received a notification informing me that mine would be expiring and that it would need to be renewed.

Afraid so, we've renewed ours online a couple of months back. I did manage to do ours OK using some notes I'd kept, the trickiest bit was importing and saving it correctly so I could export to other devices.

With great skill I have received the reminder e-mail plus a nag from *Wicksey* and still managed to forget to renew it for the first time therefore on line.
it expired three days ago and will not renew.

Is my next course of action to go back to start and go through the whole procedure again ? or do I have alternatives ?

Yes, as far as I am aware, you have to go through the whole initialprocedure again.

Use Google Chrome for the procedure ......... the current Firefox 119.0.0 fails to backup (Export) personal Certificate.

Hi Maestro,
therein lies a problem, my Chrome has stopped running and will not start. After wasting an afternoon I decided to delete it and do a fresh download.
Can't delete it get the error close all open windows and try again. Now I can't do that as I can't open it. CCleaner gives the same error.

I have renewed online once. Am I correct in thinking that the next renewal must be in person again?

Google Chrome issue........... did you shutdown your system or just close the lid (laptop) and let it sleep/hibernate

I've been "playing" with Edge this morning and it handles Certificates as expected.

When you get your new shiny Digital Certificate ..... Validate it by looking at your Personal Data held on AEAT

And MAKE Copies..............

All the info on obtaining a Digital Certificate is on the AEAT electronic site and is in English too ..........

It's an ageing desktop I5 before I7 came along. My usual routine is to sleep it most of the time then possibly once a week a full shutdown. A full shutdown is what I did last night.
I will follow your advice as last time.
