LIV Golf Andalucia at Valderrama 2026
LIV Golf has announced that it will return to Real Club Valderrama in Sotogrande next year for the LIV Golf Andalucía tournament, which will take place from 5 to 7 June 2026. This will be the fourth edition of the Andalucía tournament. The tournament will feature the Fireballs GC team, led by Sergio García, and the Legión XIII team, led by Jon Rahm. Suzann Pettersen Appointed Global Ambassador for Sotogrande Golf Academy
Sotogrande has announced that Suzann Pettersen, a former Solheim Cup player and captain, and two-time major champion, will serve as the Global Ambassador for the new Sotogrande Golf Academy. The academy is scheduled to open in August at the SO/ Sotogrande Spa and Golf Resort.
Rami Badr, CEO of Sotogrande S.A., commented on the collaboration, stating, “She is the perfect ambassador for our new Golf Academy – a world-class athlete with an astonishing resumé in the game, and with a dedication to the sport that is an ideal representation of the Academy. She is also a fantastic role model to inspire those beginning their golfing journeys with us here in Sotogrande.”
Pettersen expressed her views on the partnership, noting, “I’m honoured to join the Sotogrande team and be part of this project. This new facility is outstanding, and unlike anything else in the region. I look forward to spending time at the Academy and helping shape it into one of the best coaching facilities in the country.”
As part of her role, Suzann Pettersen is expected to work with the Academy’s teaching professionals to develop training programs that incorporate her strategic approach to golf. She will aim to integrate her coaching philosophies throughout the facility to provide consistent instruction for golfers of various skill levels.
LADIES ANDALUCÍA COSTA DEL SOL OPEN DE ESPAÑA RETURNS TO REAL GUADALHORCE CLUB DE GOLF
The Real Guadalhorce Club de Golf, one of the most iconic stages of Andalusian golf, will once again host the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España 2025 presented by Oysho, the last event of the Ladies European Tour (LET) season. Taking place from 27th to 30th November, it will be the second time in a row that the Malaga club will host a women’s golf tournament in Spain.
The Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España 2024 edition was a turning point for Guadalhorce. For the first time in its history, it hosted a women’s tournament on the European circuit, and the result could not have been any better. For four days, the course offered a technical challenge of the highest level and an unbeatable environment, earning the unanimous praise of players, coaches and fans. The tournament concluded with an emotional victory for Carlota Ciganda, who won her second Spanish Open after a thrilling showdown with Manon De Roey, rounding off a record-breaking season for the LET.
Ángel Gancedo Arjona, president of Real Guadalhorce Club de Golf commented: “Hosting this great tournament again is recognition of a job well done last year. In 2024, we proved that Guadalhorce has everything it takes to host a great final: a demanding course, first class facilities and a dedicated team. It will be a pleasure to open our doors again to the some of the world’s best golfers.”
The Real Guadalhorce Club de Golf course challenges the players with its variety of holes and fast and technical greens. Redesigned by Miguel Ángel Jiménez in 2007 on the original layout by Kosti Kuronen, the course is part of the legacy of Spanish golf. Its history is also linked to the great names on the national scene, with Jiménez himself as champion of the Spanish Men’s Professional Championship in 1999 and 2002.
In 2024, this same venue was the setting for Ciganda’s memorable final round, mastering the course and holding off from the pressure of De Roey to win with -18 and a one-stroke lead over the Belgian. The audience witnessed to the great performance of the young amateur from Madrid, Andrea Revuelta, who finished fifth and won the Celia Barquín Award for the best amateur of the tournament.
The club is set in the grounds of the Cortijo Colmenares, the former 18th century residence of the Marquises of Larios, and its clubhouse, an Andalusian country house with chapel included, offers a unique experience for players and visitors alike. Its proximity to the airport and the centre of Malaga make the club a strategic venue for the organisation of the tournament, as well as an ideal showcase to project Andalusian and Spanish golf to the world.
The Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España 2025 presented by Oysho, will bring together the 72 best players of the LET and three best Spanish amateurs, giving out 700,000 euros in prize money.

Dates for the diary. LIV Golf return to Sotogrande in 2025. The LIV Golf returns to Valderrama Golf Club from the 11th to 13th July 2025. About the LIV Golf Valderrama 2024. However the Andalucía Masters is absent from the DP Tour schedule in 2025. As the schedule closed the DP World India Championship in New Delhi was added to the Andalucía Masters slot between 16th and 19th of Octuber 2025. Real Club de Golf Sotogrande was venue in 2024 and 2023 and before that annually at Valderrama for decades except for 2012 to 2016. There has been no comment nor explanation from the title sponsors Estrella Damm nor principal sponsors Andalucia tourist board. The masters had been played in Sotogrande 25 times since 1988.
