Best single LNB for 1.3m Sky dish

Postby Wicksey » Thu Oct 12, 2023 12:47 pm

Given up trying to get anyone to fit one for us, so I will buy an LNB online and try to fit ourselves. I think Sid mentioned one in the past but I can't find the link now. Any suggestions? We tried an old one off someone's defunct dish but I think it was for a different system as it was pointing a different direction to our Sky dish. It didn't work for us. Does any LNB do the job?

All my best learning experiences start with a problem I need to solve.

Is your dish offset or prime focus?
What is the exact size of your dish?
Offset dishes are oval, prime focus are round.
Both require different types of LNBs.

It can be trial and error for the best LNB...but obviously the LNB can only work with the signals that your dish can receive. if the dish is too small to receive certain signals, then whichever LNB you use will not make a difference!

Some people go for an Inverto Ultra Black for offset dishes and say that is the best offset LNB. I dont.
Some people like the new Inverto Black range for offset dishes and say that is the best offset LNB. I dont.
I use Inverto Pro Homes for my 125x135cm dishes I install in my area.
But also have use Inverto Red "long necks" also.

And installing the LNB needs to be exact...wrong focal distance, or wrong skew and channels will not be there. A 1mm adjustment can make all the difference.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it

Ok thanks. It is a 1.3m round dish. Not sure if we can install it accurately now as the old one has been removed. As it was locked in place, we didn't realise that skew affected it. It cannot be placed in any other position, but by skew do you mean whether it is twisted around within its bracket?
