These are high-speed services (though not as fast as the AVE) which connect the major cities of Andalucia with the Spanish capital, Madrid. With the exception of the Almeria-Madrid route, these services use AVE track, offering passengers a more comfortable journey and shorter travelling times.

The Renfe Avant trains are fast (250km/h) medium-distance trains. In Andalucia, they circulate between Seville, Córdoba and Málaga.
