Chiringuito Antonio's in Puente Don Manuel has been taken over by the owner of Kieler Jurgen (Algarobbo Costa) and according to his advert is due to open on 15th August. Rumour has it that he was overheard talking to a friend (in German) and said "I'll have it (Antonios) open in a few weeks as you can give the English anything and they won't complain."
Has anyone else heard that, or can anyone comment on the normal standard at Kieler Jurgen? We had heard that the food at the Algarobbo restaurant was good and were looking forward to trying it at Antonio's.
Kieler Jurgen/Chiringuito Antonio
Well he is a bit of a character! However he does take pride in what he serves and I really don't think he'll drop his standards just because he's serving more English people.
We visit Jurgens most weeks and have never been able to fault his food. We take all our guests there and they have all been impressed.
As he closes the Algarrobo restaurant for August we'll probably pay a visit to the new one when it opens, but after that we'll stick with Algarrobo as it's handy for us.

Jurgen did a practice night on Tuesday at the Chiringuito. Friends of ours went and said they had a very good meal at realistic prices.
Great food at the Algarrobo branch - especially Shoulder of Lamb with Saute Potatoes. Have never felt any antipathy to the Brits there - most of his clientele already seem to be English.
