Is it realistic?

Postby MilkyWay » Sun Aug 06, 2023 5:59 pm

Hi, I've an EU passport and want to move to the Fuengirola area (not Marbella because I'm not a millionaire)!

I've been searching for a while to find out how much money I would need for rent and utility bills. Are the prices realistic for a single household?

Small apartment around 650 Euros/month

Water around 50 Euros/month

Electricity around 100 Euros/month

Phone/internet around 40 Euros/month

Not sure about council tax.

Thank you in advance for any help/opinion
Christine

You look about right - watch out for possible urbanisation fees, and income tax though.

Landlord usually pays the urbanisation fees I think. Would need to double check that as they can be high in some places.

Thank you.

I've just seen you're living in the area I would like to move to, maybe a cheeky question, but do you know of any companies I could apply for a German/English speaker?

MilkyWay. I commented on your post on another forum, when you mentioned fuengerola. that is the western costa del sol

Wicksey is on the Axarquia coast - think nerja, torre del mar. eastern malaga.

The two are VERY different, with the axarquia being much nicer, more spread out, "old spain"... fuengerola is built up apartment blocks - benidorm of the south.
Alhaurin el Grande since 99, working at the airport since 2011.

Yes, Spanish Lad is right, I am on the eastern side of Malaga so I can't offer any suggestions I'm afraid. There may be others nearer to you that can though!
