Internet access in the campo (no telephone line)

Postby axarquian » Sun Dec 03, 2006 1:28 pm

Hi all,

In the U.K. I see that T-Mobile are offering internet access via a laptop using 3G/GPRS. The monthly charges for a mobile phone AND internet access (3GB download limit per month) is around £32.50, this gives you around 300 'free' voice minutes per month and unlimited internet access.

My question is does anyone know if something similar is available in Spain with Telefonica, and if so at what cost. I have no chance of a telephone line, not in sight of a wi-fi mast and a two way satellite connection looks a very expensive option....... this could be a more reasonably priced option, if it is available.

Vodaphone have a 3G package in Spain but no idea of the coverage. I think it reverts to a slower speed network when the user is out of range. I think in the UK the new service is available with a USB connector and around 1.4 megabit.
