In light of the impending loss of BBC ITV C4 ect, i was wondering if anyone knows of a practical and easy way to record spanish programs.
Im enquiring about a freeview+ equivalent. Its to help us to improve our spanish and more have specific programs for the children when they want to watch it.
I goes without saying if we could swith the "idiomas" that would be great as well.
Ive ask around town and it seems no one records TV onto a hard drive like what we do with SKY+ (freeview + being the UK equivalant).
is there any machine out there with a reliable series link function and not just a timer system.
many thanks in advance for any advice

There are many TDT boxes available - most of them allow you to record onto USB stick or drives - and only a handful have internal hard drives.

There is a difference between UK Freeview and TDT.
UK Freeview operates on behalf of the UK broadcasters, and operates the Freeview EPG software.
So there are controls on what the broadcasters must provide on Freeview, like decent EPG information and things like series links
However, in Spain, TDT is not operated by a "group", but each channel operates TDT by itself.
So there is no Spanish equivalent of "Freeview" in Spain.
So TDT boxes do not run bespoke software like Freeview boxes do.
So things like series links is not available.
However, timer record is available, nd most allow you to program this for the same time each day, week, month etc...

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it

You don't need a Smart TV - just get a cheap Android set top box and you will get more than you will get on a new Smart TV.Acen wrote: is there much content for smart tv in spain???

Many thanks for all the advice.
I was really looking for a Humax "clone" which would have the same functions, which I now know does not exist.
thanks anyway
