Once seen as a bucket and spade resort offering package holidays to the masses, Torremolinos has evolved into one of the most sought after holiday destinations on the Costa del Sol. Not only does this modern resort offer great bars and restaurants, but it is also famous for its nightlife. Most of the clubs are situated on the main street of C/San Miguel which runs through the middle of the town or in the area known as La Nogalera. Torremolinos also has a thriving gay scene, and attracts clubbers from all over Andalucia.
The Palladium
The Palladium, situated on C/Mallorca, is one of the town´s best loved late night venues and boasts a swimming pool, lasers and one of the most extravagant lighting systems you will ever clap eyes on. Open from 3am-9am, the hours and the entertainment are extraordinary. Situated over three floors, the music keeps pumping all night, and many revellers dance themselves into a frenzy. Guest DJ´s take to the decks at the weekends and there are a host of shows and cabaret acts booked during the summer months.
Fun Beach
The Fun Beach disco and nightclub is also situated in C/Mallorca and offers clubbers the best in late night entertainment. Also including a swimming pool, the staff are all decked out in swimwear and clubbers are encouraged to dress as crazily as possible. Attracting a predominantly young crowd, this is one of the town´s premier nightspots, and enjoys a fabulous reputation for fun and games. Open from 10pm to 7am, there is no need to bar hop to get that last elusive drink.
Pipers
Pipers is much more than a club and disco. Boasting some of the best live acts on the coast, this quirky club is a must for many holidaymakers. Oddly enough, there is a plane suspended from the ceiling, and some eyecatching oddments are scattered around. On stage performances take place nightly in the summer months, and there is something for every age group to enjoy in this fabulous venue.
Atrevete
Atrevete is a saucy salsa venue which attracts dance fans from all over Andalucia. Situated opposite the Hotel Pez Espada in Carihuela, this funky club boasts two floors and a real party atmosphere. This is one of the most popular dance clubs of its type in Torremolinos, and even clubbers who are not salsa lovers flock here to soak up the atmosphere. There is no better place to dance till dawn.
Voltage
Popular amongst a younger crowd, Voltage is one of the loudest clubs on the Costa del Sol. The ear-splitting techno rhythms attract serious clubbers from far and wide, and as the name suggests, the voltage reaches incredible decibels on a nightly basis. If this is your type of music, then this club is for you. Packed to capacity in July and August, the club boasts an incredible light and sound system which keeps revellers on their feet until at least 6am.
Taberna Pepe López
In complete contrast to the hip-hop and techno rhythms played in many clubs in Torremolinos, the Taberna Pepe López boasts some of the best foot-stomping flamenco music around. This club is not only for the locals, and attracts visitors from all over Europe. Colourfully dressed dancers, donning shawls, fans and long frilly costumes, vigorously tap their feet and clap away to the strumming of guitars. Experience the passion of the gypsy dancers as they perform to the strum of Spanish guitars in a traditional Andalucian setting.
Eugenio´s Disco and Piano Bar
Situated in the lively area of La Nogalera, Eugenio´s is something totally different. Parading as a piano bar/disco, this innovative club attracts revellers of all ages to its cabaret, disco, and party nights. Boasting elegant, Greek style decor and many different salons and private rooms, this is a spacious and modern club with lots to offer. A large summer terrace is open during the warmer months, and special promotions and offers take place every week. El Gato Lounge
One of the most chic gay bars in Torremolinos, El Gato Lounge offers clubbers some of the best food, cocktails and wine on the Costa del Sol. This elegant lounge attracts visitors from far and wide with its innovative menu, its sumptuous summer barbecue on the terrace and its great music. Open from 7pm nightly and situated close to most of the other gay bars in La Nogalera, El Gato enjoys a central location and is the perfect place for a bite to eat or a relaxing cocktail.
