Casa del Pueblo

The Casa del Pueblo or Centro Obrero is a public building that gained prominence in the early years of the twentieth century and developed into a real institution, not least as a social space for workers. It was inaugurated in August 1919 and almost entirely destroyed in the Spanish Civil War.

El cobertizo

Located beneath a house, this tunnel is characterised by its lintel construction, supported by wooden logs and slabs.

Pujerra

This mountain village is one of the most isolated in the Serrania de Ronda. It lies a long and windy 11km from the A-376 San Pedro-Ronda road, beyond the village of Igualeja. With a 4x4 or taking it slowly, a basic 'Jubrique track' leads over the mountains from the MA-8301 Estepona - Jubrique road. It can also be reached via another track from Juzcar and across the Rio Genal.

Iglesia de La Anunciación

Its history begins with the Royal Decree granted by the Catholic Monarchs on March 21, 1492, by which Don Álvaro de Bazán was ordered to make the previous mosque the “church of the town”. There is evidence that between 1497 and 1499 the previous mosque was demolished and the construction of the new Christian temple began.

Theatre in Estepona

This modern theatre was opened on the 23rd March 2015. It has an auditorium for 600 seated spectators and a second meeting room for 100 persons. It provides latest a udio visual features.

Kitesurfing - JEEP Tarifa Pro 2018 and Air games

The JEEP Tarifa Pro 2018, a strapless kite surf competition in Playa Valdevaqeros, Tarifa Wednesday 27th June to Sunday 2nd July 2018. This six day strapless competition was  part of the GKA Kite Surf World Tour. This is an elite level wave and strapless freestyle competition - as opposed to wave riding, which occurs at other destinations during the tour.  

Villanueva de la Concepción

This handsome hill town, just 35 minutes north of Málaga and 20 south of Antequera, is described as "al pie del Torcal", 'at the foot' of the El Torcal Natural Area. This is a remarkable 17km-square region of limestone rock formations eroded by wind and rain that might lmost be described as Andalucía's answer to Uluru, the original name now used for Australia's Ayer's Rock.

Of the many ways to learn Spanish in Spain and get a good foundation in grammar and pronunciation, while having fun in the process is to attend a language school. A good course will give you the grounding you need to boost your confidence when practicing the language in 'real life' later.

Ermita de San Antonio de Padua

The Chapel of San Antonio is a unique construction. According to local legend, an agreement was reached with the neighboring municipality of Lucainena de las Torres to take the icon of the saint from the chapel of origin to Lucainena.

Flamenquin

For the tomato sauce, heat the olive oil in a medium pan. Add the onion and garlic, cover and cook gently for 10 minutes until very soft and lightly golden. Add the tomatoes, chicken stock and bay leaves and simmer, uncovered, for 30-40 minutes, stirring now and then. Until the sauce has reduced and thickened to a good consistency.

Ermita de la Virgen de las Angustias

The chronicles mention a chapel located next to the Barranco de la Fuente Agria as early as the eighteenth century. The chapel has undergone several renovations. Rebuilt in the 1970s, it now has a very simple appearance and stands out for its sobriety in the Fuente Agria Natural Site, surrounded by centuries-old chestnut trees and with a spring at its feet. It is located off the A-4132.
