Baños Árabes

Baños Árabes

A new project is underway to showcase the value of the Arab baths built during the Nasrid period. According to historical documents, they were renovated in the sixteenth century and were in operation until 1566. The ultimate goal of this project is to learn about our history in situ and preserve our heritage as a driving force for the revitalization, empowerment, and cultural development of the rural area of Aldeire. Various renovations have been carried out on the interior and exterior of the baths, including the addition of iron vaults and the renovation of the façade, arches, floors, and interior, while preserving their antiquity and essence. Work on this project began in 2017, with the Aldeire Town Hall acquiring the property from a private individual in April 2018. Rehabilitation work began in October 2020, and the first phase of the project was completed in June 2021.. There are guided tours and cultural routes, including the baths as a classroom of knowledge about the rural Nasrid life. Located on Calle Baños
