Estación del Tranvía (Oficina de Turismo)
The Padul tram station, which is now home to the Lecrín Valley Tourist Office, witnessed the inauguration of the important transport link between Granada and the south of the province on 10 February 1923. The original plan was to connect Granada city to Motril, with intermediate stations in Padul and Dúrcal, for both passenger and goods. However, due to the size and complexity of the project, passenger transport south from Dúrcal to the Costa Tropical was replaced by an aerial cableway for goods only. This cableway was the only public cableway in Spain. It was 39 km long. The Granada to Padul train ran every hour and a half, from 6 am to 8 pm. The exterior of the station resembles its time of construction. The building has been refurbished and is in perfect condition; the lower level of the platforms reflects the former position of the train tracks. The walls are painted white and yellow in the typical style of stations from that period. The station is located on Avenida de Andalucía.
