Benajarafe is a town located on the coast in the west of the municipality of Vélez-Málaga, Spain on the Eastern Costa del Sol, in the province of Málaga.

Playa de Benajarafe

Popular beach that has been awarded a Blue Flag every year since at least 2014. Not crowded 2.000m beach next to the N-340 in the area of the village of Benajarafe. Clasified as semi-urban. The beach is wider here being 30m at the ends to 70m in the centre. The sand lighter colour and finer than beaches to the west. It is cleaned daily by tractor in the summer. This adds to its popularity. there are woodwn walkways down the sand. It beach bars, sunbeds, showers and all the usual facilities. there are some shops and restaurants over the road. Parking at the side of the road in the western section. In the centre and the eastern section there is a seafront pavement and parking is on the other side of the road.

Defensive fort called Torre Moya overlooks the beach from a hill behind the beach.

Playa de Valle de Niza

Narrow and quite stony beach between 10 and 30 m wide and 1.000m long between much nicer beaches eather side. For this reason it is a quiet beach prefered by some. No facilities such as sunbeds or showers. There are a couple of bech bars nearby. Parking by the side of the N-340 road. Farmland on the other side of the road threrfor this beach is classed as rural.

At the eastern end where the land climbs to form a hill on which stands Torre del Jarel watchtower the beach runs out to nothing and the coast become rocky for 1.000m.
