Sking areas - Sierra Nevada

There are nine ski areas in total.

Borreguiles (2,645m)
This is where many ski lifts start from, and where the ski school, nursery slopes, and more restaurants are located. This area has the highest number of runs, especially blue and green. Pradollano, the main resort town is where you arrive, by car or bus; you can leave your car in one of the car parks in Zona Baja and from there two gondolas, Borreguiles and Al-Andalus, take you up another 500m to connect to Borreguiles. Two children’s areas: Pista del Mar, and the Alpine Garden, are located here at Borreguiles.

Loma de Dilar
This ski area encompasses Sulayr Superpark, home to 110 obstacles for snowboarders and freestyle skiers. For children who snowboard and freestyle ski, there’s a minipark with its own lift, Loma Dilar, which has smaller versions of obstacles. Apart from the snowpark, this area has mostly blue runs, but also a few red, as well as the only black runs of the resort. Loma de Dilar is located close to Borreguiles, and is reached by Jara chairlift.

Laguna de la Yeguas
This is another ski area, located close to Borreguiles and Loma del Dilar. This south-facing area has a network of red (intermediate) runs and is connected to Loma de Dilar by the Monachil chairlift, and to Veleta by the Laguna chairlift.

Valeta
Valeta is close to the top of the La Valeta mountain peak. This area has exclusively red runs, with eight to choose from. Aguila (Eagle) is the longest ski run in Sierra Nevada at 6.4km and a descent of 1.152m all the way down to Pradollano. The starting point of the Valeta runs at the top of the Laguna ski chair is 3.300m (10.826 ft)above sea level. This is the highest winter ski resort upper base in Europe. The Italian Tyroll Stelvio Glasier summer run is higher, at 3.450m.

Cauchiles/Parador
This skiing area has a mix of blue and red runs and is situated opposite Borraguiles.

Rio Monachil
Rio Monachil is where the night runs (Maribel and El Rio) are located, between Borraguiles and Pradollano, following the river valley.
