Hotel Puente Romano Fitness Club

A beautiful setting for a gym in a light and open room, but with limited equipment compared to some of the larger gyms in the area. The Fitness Club is secondary to the 10 tennis and 4 paddle tennis courts, but still offers aerobics classes by qualified professionals. With membership comes use of the sauna and Turkish baths, and the opening hours are excellent at seven days a week.

El Fuerte Gym

This luxury gym, housed in the beautiful El Fuerte Hotel in the heart of Marbella, is a place of privilege for a work out. The installations reflect the high quality and standard expected of a five star establishment. The extremely well equipped Nautilus gym has well-maintained, up-to-date machines, including spin bikes for spinning classes.

Alhamar Gym

This modern gym has a large cardiovascular machine room, aerobic and yoga classes and sauna a Turkish baths. It also has a UVA Sun Tanning Cabin. Membership fees include use of Sauna and Turkish baths and all classes.

Atenas Gym

Gimnasio Atenas was one of the pioneering gyms on the Costa del Sol. It opened in 1985 and has been going from strengthto strength ever since. It is easy to find, at the entrance to Marbella from the Malaga opposite Marbella port, in Calle Pintor Pacheo. The gym has a large machines room, Spinning classes, several aerobic rooms for the different classes, Jacuzzi, sauna and an indoor heated swimming pool.

Marbella Nightlife

Marbella is famous throughout the world for its glitzy image and glamorous night life. Many of the exclusive venues are located in Puerto Banus and on the Golden Mile. many visitors who come to Marbella come to party, and there is no shortage of late night bars, music bars and night clubs and restaurants.

Marbella Cinemas

Roman Villa, Marbella

The ancient site at Rio Verde may have been part of the Roman town of Cilniana. It now houses the remains of a late 1st century AD Roman villa. Sadly all that is left is the floor and a small portion of the walls of the villa (the highest at 1.2 metres). However, fortunately for us it is a floor unlike any other - embellished with black and white mosaic tiles in patterns never before seen in a Roman Villa.

Marbella Districts

Marbella extends much further east and west along the Costa del Sol than the town. Within the Marbella municipal district limits you will find a wide variety of sub-districts or neighbourhoods, most of which are dominated by spectacular views of "La Concha" mountain which towers behind the town.

The Champagne Room

Elegant late-night drink and dance venue, stylishly decorated to resemble the original Champagne Room of the 1960s. Arte Deco by designer Jean-Pier Martel. Well-heeled, sophisticated atmosphere and situated within the Hotel Marbella Club. This chic lounge is both stylish and opulent, and attracts some of Marbella´s top socialites. Subtle tunes are played early on, and some great dance music later on in the evening.

In Marbella there are several parks where you can practice sports, have a pleasant walk or enjoy the peace and quiet of the natural environment.

Nueva Andalucia district of Marbella

Nueva Andalucía is the largest neighbourhood in Marbella, extending over several square kilometres. It has an official census population of about 15,000 but considerably more residents in the summer. It was created by Madrid developer José Banús Mas, who came to Marbella in 1962 and acquired the land. Construction of Puerto Banús began in 1965, it was inaugurated in 1968, and the main infrastructure of Nueva Andalucía was installed shortly afterward. The area continued to grow until 1989 - and again in the 2000s.
